We were honored and thankful to have one of our own, Joe Corn, recognized as the 2024 Snow Operations Employee of the Year!
This award recognizes industry leaders in the snow and ice industry who are focused on elevating their profession. The award recipient is celebrated for their outstanding contributions to professional and operational excellence and their vital impact on the industry’s mission of ensuring public safety. Based on Joe’s commitment to customer service, his positive impact on team culture, achievements, and the values he embodies, there is no question that Joe deserves this award.

Joe portrays the quality of service by establishing safety for his coworkers as well as his clients. He ensures that everyone has the proper training to operate safely before, during, and after the job. Joe responds to clients requesting service in a timely, consistent manner, whether it’s 3am or 3pm, and whether he has help or he’s taking on the job himself. In doing so, he discusses expectations with the client and is an advocate for building trusting relationships with the communities we serve.
Sustainability
Joe exercises sustainability by setting regular maintenance schedules for equipment, making sure equipment is up and running, and accounting for equipment malfunctions with backups in place so services can be continued. He also takes the time to train the next generation with the previously mentioned duties, giving our team members knowledge and experience that will sustain their success as an individual and our success as a company.
Innovation
Joe streamlines processes and reduces company costs by learning and utilizing new equipment to deliver exceptional service, execute best safety practices, and save time. He encourages others to share new, innovative ideas and always thinks about improving operations.

Quality is the foundation of Silvis Group’s offerings and a fundamental principle of our services. Joe consistently ensures that the equipment under his supervision operates at the highest standard. Likewise, he assures the service we provide is completed at the highest standard of quality we set as a team.

Joe has built trustful relationships throughout the last decade with Silvis Group by coming to the rescue when his team members call with mechanical issues or equipment breakdowns. He’s consistently completing repairs on time and on budget, making himself dependable in times of need.

Joe’s passion and dedication to his work and our company are immeasurable. They have led to increased productivity, reduced downtime, improved sustainability, and more. We need more people like Joe in the industry who care about their company’s overall success and work to maintain it!
Recognizing Joe Corn's Achievements
Joe plays a crucial role in our snow season operations in more ways than one. He takes on the responsibility of managing one of our largest snow depots and crews, coordinating start times, and making high-level calls that only an experienced person like himself can make. Additionally, Joe coordinates all fleet and equipment transportation to and from our service centers and satellite locations as well as helps organize the distribution of needed materials so crews are fully equipped to succeed on the job. He also acts as a dependable mechanic throughout the storms, putting in extra hours through harsh weather conditions for the betterment of the company and the public’s safety.

His determination to always be better, set goals higher, and unwavering reliability when it comes to unexpected issues, is a consistent achievement or standard that undoubtedly rubs off on our team members.
